Workshop Session 1

Guys and dads can choose one –

Dr. Neil Stewart: Stepping Up as a Man

In this workshop we will see how Adam’s failure to step up as a leader led directly to the fall.—Because Adam didn’t take charge, Satan did; because Adam didn’t speak as a leader, Satan spoke as a deceiver; because Adam didn’t direct his family toward righteousness, he allowed Satan room to lure them toward sin.

Mr. Keith Seary (Harvest USA) – Sex, Lies and Culture

The culture is very active in teaching its views on sex, sexuality, and gender. The messages the internet, social media, and media in general, send daily are how most people think and live. The Christian worldview is increasingly a minority viewpoint. Do you know the key cultural messages that drive sexual behavior today? If not, you won’t be able to effectively present a gospel worldview.  This talk discusses:

The Christian is now living in a different “world”

Three key sexual scripts of the 21st century

Four major cultural lies about sex and how to biblically counter them

Two ways we must speak into our culture

Mr. Christian Graham (SeeJesus) – Power Source for Resisting Temptation

Too frequently, we attempt to change ourselves in our way and timing using tips and tricks.  Real Transformation is at the heart of the gospel but is dependent upon the power of God’s spirit.  We will look at how Jesus overcame temptation with his utter dependency on the father, the spirit, the word.  We will also look at what it means to follow Jesus, which is more than just knowing about Jesus, but knowing how Jesus did REAL life.

Mr. Ben Brewster – Manly Integrity

Ben will share his personal story of temptations, struggles, and failure as a man, native Marylander, and Marine.  This workshop will focus on the hope he has found in living an honest life in pursuit of Jesus in order to love and lead as a husband, father, and friend.  Highschool and college students who desire a life of manly integrity will be challenged and encouraged.  This workshop is principally designed for high school seniors and college age students.

When Young People Chose Their Sin Over Jesus

“I’m LGBTQ,” “There’s nothing wrong with porn,” or “If you love each other, sex is fine.” How do you respond as the parent or as a member of the church community when a child openly chooses their sin over Jesus? This workshop is a discussion led by two couples who have been down this road. Both of the wives are biblical counselors and the husbands might add something too. How do we show grace to the prodigal child, and their whole family?
