RESOURCES
The conference is a sprint; we want to equip you for the marathon: a long-term lifestyle of worshiping and walking with Jesus, living out the fruit of that intimacy with Him in healthy relationships, a pure heart, a pure mind, and biblical sexuality.
Books and Articles
A few books will be available for purchase at the conference. Some we recommend are listed below. If you can’t make the conference, consider ordering one or more on your own. Although we consider these biblical and healthy, some books may not sit well with every reader’s convictions in matters of conscience. Also, some books are targeted for different age ranges.
We will continue to update this list as an informal reference page.

And there are all sorts of conflicting ideas and messages about what a “real man” is (and is not). Is a real man one who hunts, loves sports, grills meat, fixes cars, and climbs mountains? Sure, sometimes. But that’s not really the point of being a man and it’s not the purpose for which men were made. Sex in a Broken World, Paul David Tripp. Sexuality is a fundamental part of what it means to be human, part of God’s beautiful design when he created all things. And yet, we’re all affected by sexual brokenness in some way or another due to our own sinful nature and the sinfulness of our fallen world. In this honest and life-giving audiobook, best-selling author Paul David Tripp helps us see the transforming grace of Jesus Christ that has been made available to all people – giving us a clear view of God’s original design for sex and offering us a vision of human sexuality that both honors God and restores our full dignity as sexual beings. We will see that only the grace of Jesus Christ provides hope for a life of freedom, purity, and joy as God intended. |

What’s the Difference? Manhood and Womanhood Defined According to the Bible, The topic of manhood and womanhood is still strongly debated today and still greatly impacts our society. For Christians there is no doubt that the Bible must be the last word. But what does it teach about true manhood and womanhood? In what ways are men and women essentially the same? In what ways are they essentially different? And how do these differences affect our roles in the home, the church, and the wider society? Noted pastor, author, and Bible scholar John Piper positively and sensitively looks at these important questions for both men and women. His conclusions will inspire and encourage you to live out your unique differences in a fulfilling, godly way. Also available free pdf download at desiringgod.org

It’s about heart change, not behavior change. That’s the conviction of Tim Chester as he seeks to help everyday Christians “connect the truth about God with our Monday-morning struggles.” This interactive book, laid out in workbook fashion, is for newer Christians struggling with sin and for more mature Christians who have plateaued in their faith as they seek to find victory over sin in their lives. With a conviction that sanctification is God’s work and the journey to holiness is joyful, Chester guides readers through a “change project”-beginning with the selection of one area of life they would like to modify. Each chapter includes a question (e.g., Why would you like to change? What truths do you need to turn to?) to guide readers as they deal with a specific sin or struggle, truths from God’s word, and a reflection guide to help readers through their change project. |
Why Do I Do What I Don’t Want To Do by Jonathan Pokluda We live in an upside-down culture. We wink at our vices as coping strategies while restricting our virtues to our online personas, where they won’t interfere with our real lives. And we wonder why we feel empty, exhausted, and directionless. But why do we do things that we know are harmful for us? Practicing virtues is not just something you do–it’s something done in you, slowly but surely transforming you into the person you were meant to be all along. Whether you’re 18 or 80, it’s never too late to redefine what’s important to you and reclaim a life of virtue.
